"Summer Storm", Acrylic on paper18 x 24, Monoprint Custom Framed $750
Welcome. My current body of work is a mix of abstract and nonobjective compositions. I use acrylic paint as my primary medium and explore the relationship between color and texture. As you travel through my site I hope you will enjoy my work and comment. All work is available for sale unless otherwise indicated. Thank you for visiting.
The two images on paper are from a series of monoprints. I use a combination of techniques and tools to transfer acrylic to the paper to create the images.
is an example of an image built up by using a brayer or roller. The acrylic is thinned to make it more translucent. This allows the color to interact in layers. The color is thinned on a glass or metal sheet and rolled on to the paper. subsequent colors are applied directly to the roller and transferred to the paper. The final elements are direct from the tube."Pleasant Marsh"
"Summer Storm" is an example of glass plate transfer to the page and tube application. Final linear elements are made by the edge of the roller.
